Secretaries Report

Held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Gainesville GA. Rudy Rameriz’s painting of St. Michael was displayed at front of room. 14 members present as well as a number of guests and spouses.
Very impressive presentation of colors by our color guard. Gerald Cox, John Irwin and Wayne Turpin.
Monsignor Jamie Barona welcomed our group and spoke about St. Michael. He then blessed Rudy’s painting and those in attendance with Holy Water. He was very impressed with the painting and Rudy’s talent!
Rudy gave a fine presentation about the history of St Michael and his relationship to the Airborne as Patron Saint. He then explained how he depicted St. Michael in the painting.
Rondal Dockery was presented with a quilt by the Quilts of Valor Organization. Diana Dyer and Betty Heathman the quilt and talked about the history of their organization.
Tony Michael presented Gary Weller with plaque of appreciation for his six years of hard work as chairman and one of the founding members of the NGAA.
Business Meeting:
Treasurers report. As of the meeting date we had over $1,200
Gary handed out NGAA business cards
John Erwin was recognized for rebuilding a travel trailer that will be used by the organization. The trailer has ( Command Post North Georgia Airborne Assoc. ) painted on the back.
Welcomed new member, Dickie Howard from Cleveland, Ga. Recruited by Don Sandefur.
Gary Weller will be taking pictures at all of our events and will be emailing a newsletter.
We will now have a donation box (designed and built by Rudy Rameriz) at each meeting. The box will either be outside of the meeting area or in the back of the room. We collected $100 at the meeting.
Lunch after the meeting. The Knights of Columbus at the church generously prepared a delicious lunch of homemade tacos after the meeting. Grand Knight, Stacey Chadwick and the knights volunteered to do this when they found out there was a veteran’s group meeting.
Thank you to Douglas Damon for arranging the use of the church meeting hall.
